Hi, Poogo!
I have changed the firmware, I want to "compare" with the old one, but I can't go back to the older firware... How is it possible to do it? (I use the DP3 only with SPDIF output, are there noticeable changes in this case? At first listening, It "appeared" to be "better" with the old one, so that I want to go back to compare carrefully)

Yes, the problem is also present on spdif out.
Download (link) the original firmware from the manufacturer’s website, unpack and flash it. You can also download from my cloud (link), the SMSL site is very slow.

There is no problem with DSD files. The bug appears only on packed or unpacked PCM files (wav, flac, mp3, aac, etc.).
I do not use DLNA, so I do not know if there is a bug when using DLNA.

Regarding the crosstalk, I use frequently a crosstalk correction done by Thierry69 on the forum (you can look at https://www.homeaudiofidelity.com/
So when I heard the DP3 for the first time on a friend's system, The sound coming from the DP3 was a little bit like the crosstalk correction. In fact it's a kind of stereo enlargment, the sonic scene is larger with the sound kind of out on the left and right of the speakers. This effect is quite sensitive the the cable quality.
This is why I suspected some kind of DSP mode in the DP3.

How the crosstalk cancelation work , you indeed inject the left sound on the right speaker to cancel the diaphony which is in the signal. Although, the right cancellation is done correctly  after measurements involving the room and the size of the head of the people listenning like do Thierry69.
The DP3 crosstalk for me is not a bug but done on purpose. It's a average stereo enlargment like was  on some old vintage amp.
It's a trick to change the sound and make it different and attractive.
On a headphone tou should not really ear the enlargment and only the distorsion.

With your new firmware, the scene might be smaller a the sound more in the speakers.
You should specifically heard this on binaural wav files or some jazz music. Try Oscar petterson trio "we get request". Less instruments separation with the new firmware but compensate by the lower distorsion.

Donc, quand j'ai entendu le DP3 pour la première fois sur le système d'un ami, le son provenant du DP3 était un peu comme la correction de la diaphonie. En fait, c'est une sorte d'agrandissement stéréo, la scène sonore est plus grande avec le son qui sort en quelque sorte à gauche et à droite des haut-parleurs. Cet effet est très sensible à la qualité du câble.
C'est pourquoi je soupçonnais une sorte de mode DSP dans le DP3.

Comment fonctionne l'annulation de la diaphonie, vous injectez en effet le son gauche sur le haut-parleur droit pour annuler la diaphonie qui se trouve dans le signal. Mais l'annulation de la diaphonie se fait correctement après des mesures portant sur la pièce et la taille de la tête des personnes qui écoutent, comme le fait Thierry69.
Pour moi, la diaphonie du DP3 n'est pas un bug mais elle est faite exprès. C'est un agrandissement stéréo moyen, comme c'était le cas sur un vieil ampli vintage.
C'est une astuce pour changer le son et le rendre différent et attrayant.
Avec un casque, vous ne devez pas vraiment écouter l'agrandissement et seulement la distorsion.

Avec votre nouveau firmware, la scène peut être plus petite et le son plus fort dans les haut-parleurs.
Vous devriez entendre cela spécifiquement sur des fichiers binauraux wav ou sur de la musique de jazz. Essayez le trio Oscar Petterson "we get request". Moins de séparation des instruments avec le nouveau firmware mais compensation par une distorsion plus faible.

You can also change the interface. Font, font size, font color, background image, button appearance, etc.

This will require some manipulation of the firmware, but completely safe.

Here, many are afraid of problems in the process of flashing or freezing incorrect firmware (when the player does not load or freezes). What to do in this case:
1. Copy the file (update.upt) of the original (or any correct) firmware to the SD card and install it in DP3.
2. Plug the DP3 into an electrical outlet.
3. Simultaneously press and hold the "Power" and "FN" buttons (on the DP3 face).
4. When the screen lights up, the "Power" button must be released (the "FN" button must still be pressed).
5. When the firmware flash process has started, the "FN" button must be released.
Ok, we flashed DP3 without using an interface.
