Hello,
I am moving next week to an apartment where I will FINALLY have a real living room or listen to decent music. I'm going to reinstall my old REGA Luna amp + a pair of Castle Isis speakers that I don't really use anymore and I'm wondering how best to manage my sources.
My music sources are more and more dematerialized of course and I just took a Qobuz subscription, so it will be my main source that I want to be able to use from my mac mini as well as my windows laptop and my android phone.
I can invest a little but within very reasonable limits ... the move is already expensive enough.
What I am considering a priori, is to put behind my REGA a Cambrige audio magic plus DAC, connected in spdif on the TV box of the 4K freebox and to stream the digital streams Qobuz (and other but especially Qobuz) by chrome cast to the DAC through the freebox. The icing on the cake, I will take the opportunity to use the second optical input of the DAC for my old Philips CD player https://speedtest.vet/ https://vidmate.bid/ .
I am more of a music lover (especially blues, jazz, classical) who likes to listen to music in good conditions than a convinced audiophile. I am therefore looking for a good-quality, comfortable solution, but not necessarily technical perfection.
What do you think of this assembly? Should it work or is there a problem I can't see? Do you see a downside or a major problem? Are there any pitfalls to avoid?
