I listened to the Triangle Quatuor speakers at the local dealer on a McIntosh system :
DCS Rossini Player/DAC + McIntosh C1100 Tube Preamp + McIntosh 1,2kW monos on each channel

and I was blown away by the quality. It was something you remember all your life.
But this system had a list price of around 85,000 EUR......

Obviously I ordered the speakers which will arrive in one month and I am trying to gather information on what kind of amplifiers can make this speakers sing at their full potential. Obviously money it is important. 85,000 EUR is out of question.

Dealer told me this speakers need lots of current (amperes) and McIntosh or Accuphase are a good match for the Triangle.
But he also has a second-hand Mastersound Evolution 845 (tube integrated amplifier 55w Class A) he is trying to get rid of and he wants to convince me it is a good match for the Quatuor.

I was hoping you had listen to both type of amplifier (solid state >300w vs tube class A around 50w).

I will arrange for an audition when my speakers arrive and I will give feedback here also.

Évidemment, j'ai commandé les enceintes qui arriveront dans un mois et j'essaie de recueillir des informations sur le type d'amplificateurs qui peuvent faire chanter ces enceintes à leur plein potentiel. Évidemment, l'argent est important. 85,000 EUR est hors de question.

Le concessionnaire m'a dit que ces haut-parleurs avaient besoin de beaucoup de courant (ampères) et que McIntosh ou Accuphase correspondaient bien au Triangle.
Mais il a aussi un Mastersound Evolution 845 d'occasion (amplificateur intégré à tube 55w Classe A) dont il essaie de se débarrasser et il veut me convaincre que c'est un bon match pour le Quatuor.

J'espérais que vous aviez écouté les deux types d'ampli (état solide> 300w vs tube classe A autour de 50w).

J'organiserai une audition à l'arrivée de mes orateurs et je ferai part de mes commentaires ici aussi.

If your speakers need a lot of current I warmly recommend you to listen to the new Helixir Audio 500X amplifier.
A friend of mine just receive it to replace his Dartzeel CTH...just to give you an idea of the quality you can expect.
