Il y a quelques temps, on a découvert des bandes enregistrées en publique le 28 Juin 1969 de Jorma Kaukonen et Jack Casady augmenté de Joey Covington à la batterie, qui pré-visage de ce qu'aller devenir le Hot Tuna électrique quelques temps plus tard:

Live concert recording features recently discovered and previously unreleased music from Jefferson Airplane’s fabled guitar and bass players before they became known as Hot Tuna.
Joined by Joey Covington on drums, this intense, hard-driving muscle trio creates a sonic landscape to rival Cream and the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
Essential listening for fans of Hot Tuna and Jefferson Airplane, with more than 70 minutes of music, including 4 fully-formed, rare songs that were named by Jorma and Jack for the first time for this release.
Liner notes include contributions by both Jorma and Jack, as well as rare and previously unreleased vintage photographs.
Freshly restored and mastered from the original tapes captured by legendary Grateful Dead soundman, Owsley Stanley, a/k/a Bear, who is known for the purity of his “Sonic Journal” recordings.
These tapes were transferred and restored to the most exacting audiophile standards, utilizing state-of-the-art Plangent Processes techniques to remove subtle timing distortions created by the recording and playback devices.
The mastering was done by Jeffrey Norman (Mockingbird Mastering), long-time collaborator with the Grateful Dead and Owsley Stanley.

En 2012, est sortie un double album avec les 10 enregistrements initiaux plus 5 qui étaient déjà sortie par ailleurs, mais beaucoup plus intéressant, sur le deuxième CD, un concert complet de 13 morceaux toujours enregistrés au New Orleans House au début du même mois.

Édition, la première fois en vinyle du premier album de Big Soul « Big Soul ».
Un peu déçu, j’ai le sentiment d’écouter le cd... ce qui n’enlève rien à sa qualité artistique.
