Hi everyone, I found your Audio Forum through one of your members - sap2212 , I had asked for help on diyaudio.com looking for anyone who could give me an opinion on the New GRS Planar Drivers . . .  and sap2212 was the only person to respond to my questions.  He was very familiar with the GRS PT6825-8 Planar Mid/Tweeter which he had used in a very exciting Horn Design , he shared his design pictures and information , then directed me to your Forum here for more information.

--------------------------------------------

( These are the other Planar drivers I was interested in case anyone else is familiar with them.)

-  GRS PT6825-8 Planar mid / Tweeter =   Similar to  Neo-8's ,

-  GRS  PT6816-8 Planar Slim Tweeters ... New

-  And the  - GRS PT5010-8 10" Planar Mid / Tweeter =  Similar to  Neo-10's

---------------------------

I am a long time audiophile , and I recently sold what was my current system that I still enjoyed - ( NHT3.3 Speakers , and VTL 300MB Deluxe Monoblocks - 300 watt Tube amplifiers )  to raise capitol to build my own Speakers.

-  It has been a long time dream of mine to build diy High Efficiency Speakers and small amplifiers , unfortunately I had not started yet.  But we recently moved from California USA - to Texas USA ... and unlike California , it doesn't cool off much at night in Fort Worth Texas so it was a motivation to get moving, my speakers were not very efficient and the VTL Tube Amplifiers used 8 - KT88's per side - a lot of heat - LOL.

-  The  first speaker design will hopefully be using some of the new Neo Planar drivers,  but I also have several other speaker designs I would like to build as well.
I would like to try Open Baffle Speakers using the Vintage Zenith drivers 49cz852's and then  possibly Lii Audio drivers too.

-  (and then to eventually build diy preamplifier , Amplifiers, Turntable etc.)

Best regards,

Merci chakiwi pour le message.

Welcome hallcon83.

The speakers are designed to perform best with a small tube amplifier. In the photo I am using a Yamamoto A08 equipped with the 2 × 1.5 W tube 45 in a 600 ft² room. I will answer your questions on the Diyaudio forum.
