Above a certain level of power supplies, the differences are rather subtle and do not match the price. With noise levels below 1uV and lower (that's less than 0.000001V!), every component on DC side, including the DC cable, can make a difference. It is not an improvement, but that a poor quality DC cable can simply spoil this result.
I shouldn't do that, but I will compare two power supplies here, samples in low and high frequencies under 1Amp current load. The popular one and the power supply that i designed. Until now, i thought that the popular one (witch i still use personally) was good for its price, but when I changed my measuring equipment to a much better one (8 bit to 16 bit depth which means 256 times greater resolution deepth), I changed my mind ...
