The R-2R resistors network themselve have a S/N ratio of 129 dB, the dam1121 have no output buffer so that one is spec'ed at 129 dB, the dam1021 have a low noise opamp, so that spec'ed at 127 dB, for the dac1541 the priority was best sound quality, it have a very good sounding zero feedback fully discrete output amplifier, but it is a little more noiser, which I did not consider a problem, and people testing it with very sensitive in ear headphones agreed.... And please note that my spec are unweighted, most competitors are spec'ed A-weighted which usually give 3 dB better numbers...."
